Rules and Expectations
Do
take very good care of your MOOSE - we will be using it all year long
take your MOOSE home every day and bring it back to school the next morning
show your parents your MOOSE book every night and go over any homework or returned work with them
put your homework back inside your MOOSE
Do Not
leave your MOOSE at home, in the car, or at a friend's house
get your MOOSE dirty; don't eat or drink around your MOOSE
put extra papers in your MOOSE
let someone borrow your MOOSE
take pages out of your MOOSE - leave everything in your notebook (let your parents take things out)

Inside Cover
This is where notes from school and other forms will be placed.
Zipper Pouch
This is a small pouch at the front of the MOOSE notebook. It is used to transport important items such as lunch money, permission slips, book orders, and more. Additionally, it may hold one sharpened pencil and one highlighter.
Planner
Our planners are the most important piece of our MOOSE notebooks. They will include our daily assignments. Assignments will be checked off once completed, and incomplete assignments will be highlighted. The planner should have an adult signature each night.
Homework Folder
This folder will contain work to be done at home and turned in. It will also contain work that your child has completed at school.
Nightly Reading Log
Each night students are encouraged to read at least 20 minutes per night. Here is where we log what we read at home. Nightly reading logs are due on the first school day of each month.
Class List / Daily Schedule
Weekly Newsletter
This sheet protector will have our weekly newsletter. This newsletter will include updates to what is going on in our classroom, our weekly spelling list, and other important information.
Calendars
I will be putting a calendar at the beginning of each month that has important dates and reminders of special events in our classroom. Monthly cafeteria menus will also be included.
Keepers
This section of the MOOSE is for putting items that need to be kept safe. Items will be hold punched and kept here.
Communication
This section will for parent and teacher communication. Please check it daily, and I will do the same for communications from you. Please remind your child that this section is only for you and the teacher to write in. I would ask that you leave any notes that we may write in this section so that we can look back and remember any communications we have had.
