Daily Schedule

Regular Schedule

8:00 - 8:45: Morning Meeting

During this time, students start their day writing the day's agenda, doing Daily Oral Language, and morning work.

8:45 - 10:15: Math

10:15 - 10:45: Recess, Restroom, Compliments

10:45 - 12:05: Guided Reading

Guided Reading occurs in four roations. The first rotation is from 10:45 - 11:05, then 11:05 - 11:25, followed by 11:25 - 11:45, and finally 11:45 - 12:05. During these rotations, students may be doing guided reading with the teacher, working at their seats, working with a para, doing computer work, or with another staff member.

12:05 - 12:20: Reading Nooks

This is a time where students get to spread out in the room and read self-selected text.

12:20 - 12:55: Lunch / Recess

12:55 - 1:05: Seatwork

This is ten minutes of an extension activity that usually has to do with language arts.

1:05 - 1:50: Music / PE

Music is on Orange / Even days. PE is on Black / Odd days.

1:50 - 2:20: Social Studies / Science Departmentalizing

Students from Mr. Schrader's class go to another class to learn social studies while another class visits Mr. Schrader's classroom for science instruction.

2:20 - 2:50: Science

Mr. Schrader's students return to their regular classroom for science intsruction.

2:50 - 3:15: Language Arts

3:15 - 3:30: Wrap Up, Announcements, Exit Slips, Read Aloud, Dismissal

These activities occur on alternating days from 11:45 - 12:15.
